Meet Our Dedicated Founder
Ryan Musyoka - Founder
Ryan is a 15-year-old from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a proud big brother to an 8-month-old baby. When his little brother was born, he received a small handmade hat—a simple gesture that sparked something bigger. A few months later, Ryan noticed how many expectant mothers were arriving daily at the IWK hospital, and he realized how many newborns could benefit from that same warmth and welcome. Wanting to ensure every baby could have a cozy hat—especially during Nova Scotia’s cold winters—he asked his mom if she knew anyone who could knit. That small question led to the creation of Cozy Hearts Collective.
What began as a simple idea soon grew into a community-driven initiative. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Ryan envisioned a way to connect business donations with local knitters, turning each handcrafted hat into both a cherished keepsake and a source of supplemental income. Today, Cozy Hearts Collective brings comfort to newborns and opportunity to the hands that create for them.
